Tiny beetle gleams.
New friend? I lean in. He flees:
Social distancing.

“New Friend" was written for Alan Nakagawa's sound collage called "Social Distance, Haiku, and You," sponsored by the Orange County Museum of Art.
More than 500 contributors offer truly varied perspectives on living through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lobbezoo wrote seven different COVID haiku, but decided to submit this one as it spoke to her pandemic-y feelings of loneliness and enhanced appreciation of nature in a light-hearted way.
Listen to the amazing sound collage or read it here.
Lobbezoo's haiku is in Part G.
